The Murmur of Machines by Marc Tremblay (Original Painting)

*The Murmur of Machines* presents a female figure caught in a space of tension
between the human, technology, and memory. Positioned at the center, she appears upright, almost
motionless, as if listening for something invisible. Her headset and the
trailing wires suggest a connection to a world that has become distant
or inaccessible.
The equations, graphic symbols, and lines traversing the surface introduce a
mental and scientific dimension. They evoke measurement and analysis, yet without
conveying a sense of total mastery. Instead, the machine acts as a mediator between thought,
memory, and a reality that is difficult to grasp.
The title emphasizes this understated presence: the machines do not shout; they murmur. This
murmur might be a remnant of activity, an incomplete communication, or a recorded
memory. Technology no longer appears as a promise of domination, but
rather as the tangible trace of a world that continues to speak in a low voice.
