Before the blood came, before the sacrifice, before She found the door — there was the Tree.
It did not grow toward light. It grew toward water. Toward depth. Toward everything the ocean had swallowed and refused to return.
One night I watched it drink the sea dry.
The celestial body above did not stop it. Did not even try. It simply radiated — cold, purple, indifferent — while the roots pulled continents under and the tide surrendered without a sound.
