A bloodshot eye held open by a finger. The word TIRED written into the iris.
A bloodshot eye fills the canvas. A finger from below pulls down the lower lid. The white of the eye is laced with broken vessels; the iris is inscribed with a word, written in blood: TIRED. Around the eye, the world is dark and smeared.
TIRED was painted in October 2025, during the first weeks the artist was working in a print factory. The gesture is both medical and childlike — “show me your eye” and “look how tired I am”. The diagnosis is self-administered and exact: the word is not spoken, it is written directly onto the body.
