Artwork description

On July 22, 2002, I was suffered a sever electrical shock. I sustained fourth degree burns to my left hand, spent a week in the burn unit, had several surgeries, and spent the next year in occupational therapy. I had to take a semester off from undergrad, and wasn’t able to sculpt again for about six months. This piece is the first thing I sculpted when I was well enough. Unfortunately, I hit a block and was unable to finish it… until now. Almost 20 years to the day from my accident I completed “Altar of Rust and Rebirth.”
