Dina Goebel Biography

Australia, born 1962

Creating exquisite sculptures of Dead Fairies and using an array of Victorian-style glass domes, brass candelabras and vintage frames, Dina is passionate about the environment and its plight by deforestation. Her work ‘aims to recapture the magical forest world and remind us of what was lost’.

Her unique blend of surreal creatures and Victorian Gothic style décor is exquisitely detailed, enabling viewers to discover hidden delights from nature as they explore her distinct works.

Having traversed multi-media sculpting for decades, Dina has always been a collector of dead things since childhood; combining this into her Dead Fairies art doll series brings together her childhood pleasures, artistic experiences, and conservation messages all into one being.

ABOUT

A lifetime self-taught artist, Dina Goebel has established her studio in a 150yo settlers’ cottage in rural Victoria, Australia. As a creative entrepreneur Dina has established several artistic businesses over 40 years, most recently specialising in Victorian Gothic oddities, sculptures, and décor. Re-establishing as a full-time artist since the start of 2023, her current direction is growing momentum and in demand at specialist events and expos across Australia.
