Artwork description

Work that explores the unknown of the human soul. The painting depicts an island from which the face of two-faced Janus, an ancient prescient deity who looks to the past (experience and memory) and the future (the unknown and becoming) emerges, leaving the second face submerged in the abyss. Symbolically, the work represents the acceptance of the ambivalent nature of the human being, the encounter between the conscious and rational part and the shadow zone, the unconscious, the dark and hidden side of personality.
