Without preliminary sketches, my drawing is shaped over time with charcoal strokes and erasers. Each line, infused with the energy of the moment, evokes raw emotions and fleeting thoughts captured in the instant, embracing the unpredictable events of an organic world with blurred boundaries that is constantly evolving and changing.
These are snapshots of my retinal memory experiments that strive to reach the loss of the figurative in favour of expressing space and matter.
My drawings evoke imaginary landscapes, often suggesting a wooded universe where moss clings to the rough bark of trees, while interlacing roots and vines snake, entwine, and intertwine, offering a plunge into a teeming jungle. In this botanical realm, every detail tells a story.
A network of lines, though seemingly disordered, reveals a hidden harmony—a dance between chaos and order. They stretch, bend, and cross, inviting the eye to wander and find its own way through this abstraction.
By playing with light and shadow to create the illusion of volume and depth, the drawing transforms into a sensory journey—an invitation to feel rather than to understand.
