Eternity explores the human body at the moment it slips out of certainty and into transition. The figure is neither alive nor dead; it is dissolving into the energies that once held it together. Anatomical fragments surface like memories, while other parts disappear into abstraction. In this state of disassembly, the body becomes a threshold — a place where identity loosens and the self confronts its own vanishing point.
The work is guided by two chromatic forces: red, carrying the weight of blood, earth, and decay, and green, the quiet echo of return, renewal, and the stubborn persistence of hope. These colors do not describe life and death; they map the emotional terrain that exists between them.
Influences from Nezahualcóyotl’s meditations on impermanence and Munch’s psychological intensities are present not as references, but as undercurrents. Their voices resonate in the tension between dissolution and resurgence. The phrase “I have come to leave flowers” becomes an intimate intrusion — a gesture from the other side, where remembrance replaces fear.
Eternity is not an image of death but of transformation. It invites the viewer to enter the space where the body ceases to be a boundary and becomes an opening — a quiet, unsettling reminder that what we fear most is also what connects us to one another.
