Artwork description
I had a waking vision of a vast wasteland, the soil tarry and toxic, the air chocked with carcinogenic smog, belched forth from colossal columns, piercing the very sky, each baring the a variety of visages of some long forgotten despotic titans, perhaps the architects of this oligarchic Hellscape. My 6th piece in the “Smokestack Cenotaph” series consists of an incinerator for the disposal of corpses, possibly those of political dissidents or other “undesirables.” A ramp leads into the gaping maw of said incinerator, still occupied by the shrouded, desiccated enemies of an abandoned state.
