Artwork description
I had a waking vision of a vast wasteland, the soil tarry and toxic, the air chocked with carcinogenic smog, belched forth from colossal columns, piercing the very sky, each baring the stern visage of some long forgotten despotic titan, perhaps the father of this oligarchic, industrial Hell-scape. My fourth, and largest, “Smokestack Cenotaph” to date, this one features portraits of a hegemon and her consort on opposite sides of the smokestack, evoking the Greek god Janus.
