Artwork description

A funerary urn in the form of a stylized Egyptian canopic jar. Canopic jars (which held the extracted organs of mummies) traditionally featured the heads of gods for lids. This example features the likeness of Horus in the form of a sculpted hawk skull wearing the pschent crown of upper and lower Egypt. It should be noted that this piece is not designed to contain liquids, and that the maximum volume that it contain is 40 oz.
