Artwork description

This is a self-portrait from my most popular series “Slavic Demonology”. This is a demon that lives on the swamps. They had different names depending on the region: błędnice, ogniki, świetliki bagienne or błędne ognie. They appeared in the form of small flickering lights floating above the swamps in the evening. A few saw these lights transform into thin and tall figures. A strange blue glow radiated from them, and their heads glowed like living flames.
