Christ on the cross

The most iconic image of Christ is that of him dying on the cross. We Christians were it as jewelry, we display it at the front of our sanctuary, and see it as the ultimate sacrifice our lord could make for us. Hear in this image Jesus is not dead yet, but the pain is setting in. He hangs by his nail pierced hands with no effort to stop the pain of it. He does this in silence for he knows this is the way to human salvation. After him there would be no need for sacrifice again, for he is the ultimate sacrifice his blood in exchange for the forgiveness of our sin and he takes it like a true King and lord of all. He is the Christ and this image is in remembrance of what he has done for all of us.
