Italy, born 1983
Riccardo Fissore was born in Turin in 1983. He has attended the painting Atelier “ImparalArte”, by Amelia Alba Argenziano, in Rivoli (TO), since 2004.
His work in the social field and his interest in politics led him, right from the start, to include these themes in his paintings, alternating symbols and critical and sarcastic messages to tell the story of the times in which he lives.
In the following years, his works appear increasingly linked to personal and introspective themes, becoming almost a sort of therapeutic session or diary; in the latter, the images create a bridge with the viewer, who is thus able to decipher moods, fears and reflections on the author’s daily life.
Riccardo Fissore suffers from a creative block for a long time, which leads him to question his entire production; it is precisely this distancing from the brushes that allows him to return to painting with greater awareness and vigor.
He experiences his absence from the art world as a real physical lack, which even moves him to feel guilty for the "lack of dialogue", through the codification of his thoughts in images, with his audience.
When inspiration returns, however, he understands that he is directly linked to his creative side and that it is necessary in his intimate vision of the world.
The core, the expressive language of all his artistic activity remains Surrealism: a modern surrealism, which proposes and arranges on the canvases the time in which he lives.
However, he also speaks of a past, in which the spectator "witnesses" a completely defined and minutely painted universe; however, it seems not to have a correspondence in the sphere of reasoning: the brush-painted images proposed are decontextualized and then reassembled within a context, at times, paradoxical, whose mission is to induce reflection.
From 2004 to today, he has created many collections. Each series deals with a different topic, once exhausted, before starting the next, he creates individual paintings, as if he wanted to detach himself clearly from the exhausted season and not run the risk of remaining anchored to themes already covered.
His exhibition activity began in 2005, tackling various collective and personal exhibitions; it began in Northern Italy and then expanded throughout the peninsula, until crossing national borders.
