SHORT BIOGRAPHY
I am half-Russian and half-Ukrainian, and I have been living in Ghent since 2000.

I studied at Sint-Lucas in Ghent and obtained a master’s degree in visual arts in 2004, along with a teaching degree at the academic level. Professionally, I teach drawing at the academies in Temse and Anderlecht. Alongside my teaching, I create my own artwork. My latest series of paintings is titled “Recreated Reality.”
RECREATED REALITY
The RECREATED REALITY series consists of oil paintings based on self-taken photographs that capture strange, evocative images from the surroundings. The paintings bring an additional sense of depth and emotional nuance to these scenes. Often, the theme revolves around escaping reality, whether by traveling to another country or through an imaginary journey within the mind.

This series is a collection of:

- Individuals who do not fit into society, portrayed as a rare doll collection;

- Objects that stand out due to their unusual context or form;

- Moments captured as unique snapshots from my daily life.

In this way, the series has become a chronicle of a part of my life journey, steeped in an atmosphere of enchantment, mystery, and wonder.

My sources of inspiration include visual artists Kati Heck, Paula Rego, and Francis Bacon, as well as directors Andrej Tarkovsky, Lars von Trier, and David Lynch.
