United States, born 1954
Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm a man of music and art. David Hubbard is my name and I've been painting again for about a year since May of 2023. Most of my career I fabricated outdoor sculpture, did commercial metal fabrication for museums and clients and had my own art transportation and installation business in the Washington, DC area. I worked for the Smithsonian Institution as an assistant registrar and in the Exhibitions department in three different museums. With the help of my artist wife, Marcie Wolf-Hubbard we raised two boys.
I studied Art, Psychology, Sociology and pre-med. at the University of MD. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Studio Art. Artistic influences include Philip Guston, William T. Wiley and the surrealists. My work has been shown in hundreds of shows in the Washington metropolitan area and is included in many collections throughout the area. I play guitar, bass and write songs for various bands including "Paradise Bill" which is my latest band.
I'm interested in human nature and many of my paintings are a reflection of the human psyche. I make uncomfortable images in this time of turmoil in America. I try to make people think about what they are doing. If I can get people to think about these images, I've done my job. Thank You, David Hubbard dhparadisebill@gmail.com
