Greece, born 1965
I create surreal, symbolic art that explores metaphysical and existential themes. My work reflects on life, death, and the mystery in between. Through archetypes, symbols and dreamlike worlds, I investigate the unseen — the spiritual, the immaterial, the unknown.
My art work is a form of contemplation rather than provocation. It is a visual language for exploring inner truth. My practice is an ongoing quest — a journey through the invisible, the sacred and the liminal. It does not aim to provide answers but to offer poetic hints and subtle invitations to reflect.
My figures do not serve darkness; they seek to illuminate it. They attempt to give shape to what lies beyond visible reality. Through surreal juxtapositions and symbolic narratives I explore deep questions of birth, memory, death, and the transcendent dimension of human existence.
I am not interested in provocation for its own sake, nor in subverting the Sacred. My work does not represent any specific religious or anti-religious stance. Rather, it aspires to visually express the enigma of existence — with reverence, curiosity and honesty.
For me, art is inseparable from life. It is not something I simply do — it’s something that happens to me. There are times I wake up suddenly, startled by an idea that came uninvited. I begin creating feverishly and instinctively, combining forms and materials I never expected to use.
A kind of hyperaesthetic, metaphysical symbolism seems to emerge on its own — as if it comes from a deep, unconscious place that even I don’t fully understand. And each time, it surprises me.
Don’t ask me what everything means. I honestly don’t know. I believe each viewer will find their own meaning. That’s what art is — a shared mystery.
One thing I know for certain is that I am drawn to depth — in art and in life — in all its forms and layers.
