An.So Biography

France, born 1973

An.So is a self-taught visual artist. Life offered her stories, encounters, music and travel.Her childhood was cradled by the spray of the wild coasts of Finistère – the end of the Land - and the legends of the Breton Hearts. This perfect balance between strong anchorage and endless horizons makes Travelers, as she is, discovering the World and Others. Over time, life disrupted her utopias and questioned her vision of the world. she had to find a way to express her feelings, vent her anger and claim her hopes... It was belatedly at 45 that she lets herself expressing her emotions through artistic creation, totally, entirely, and with the highest sincerity. Today, shaping the material allows her to express her most intimate thoughts like a loud cry releasing an exacerbated sensitivity.This form of expression has become obvious, a needed and vital balance. An.So’s art is her story, her life

The source of An.So’art is not a concept, an anticipation. It comes from her inner self, without any filter, raw, as an intimate gift. For her, the creative act is the way to expel her fears, her tears and her sighs, to translate her reading of the World and to reinterpret them through dark poetry. Truly influenced by both her Breton traditions and her Gothic culture, she expresses herself, naturally, in a baroque universe where details open the doors to a dreamlike and surreal world. An.So’s Art touch, upset, move, frighten... they do not leave anyone indifferent. They challenge, they tell a story, they tell my Story ... but also that of anyone who wants to let themselves be carried away...

An.So’s Art is an assembly of heterogeneous objects and materials, out of use that she patinates by oxidation of metallic pigments.This technique is an integral part of her creative process: turning the discarded object into a precious work that tells a new story...
